Family Story Time with Promising Pages & Strive CLT (Corridor-Based Event)

Event Description

The Center for Digital Equity is teaming up with Promising Pages and StriveCLT for a family story time event for Southside Homes residents. StriveCLT will assist residents in completing an “Internet and Computer Needs” survey, and Digital Navigators from the Center for Digital Equity will be spreading awareness of our no-cost Digital Navigator services available to all Mecklenburg County residents.

Overview of Promising Pages and StriveCLT

1. Promising Pages envisions a world where all children have home libraries of self-selected books, can see themselves reflected in the books they read, and have made reading a joyful habit for a lifetime. The mission of Promising Pages is to collect new and donated books and share them with children living in the Charlotte Area Book Desert: those with few, if any, books at home. They work to create a culture of book sharing and ownership.
2. StriveCLT helps families who want to improve their lives. They provide reading, digital, and financial literacy training, as well as civic education, family mentoring, and networking to help families reach their full potential for increased social mobility.
