Digital Charlotte: Digital Inclusion Volunteer Training
September 12, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Did you know there are approximately 60 million Americans that don’t know how to use a computer or get online?
We are developing programs that empower people to accomplish their personal goals through digital literacy, while connecting them to vital resources such as affordable devices and broadband service.
Our next Volunteer Training class will be on Tuesday, 9/12, at 6pm at the Knight School of Communication at Queens University of Charlotte at 1900 Selwyn Ave. Charlotte, NC 28274.
We are looking for people who want to make a difference in their community by becoming a digital literacy instructors or teaching assistants. We need volunteers of all skill levels and backgrounds. Whether you can donate 1 hour a month or 20 hours a week, we value your time.
Volunteer training consists of three parts:
* Learning: What is the digital divide? Understanding the three leg stool.
* Application: What you can do to help? Review the basics of our lesson plan.
* Practice: Train the trainer. Teaching Digital Literacy 101
