By submitting this application, you affirm that you understand the program’s requirements and limitations and that your organization is committed to fulfilling the requirements.
Specifically, applicant organizations agree to the following:
Prior to the June 29 orientation meeting, organizations commit to:
- Schedule an in-person, on-site consultation with CDE’s Program Manager if the organization has not previously partnered with CDE to deliver digital skilling classes.
- Register as a digital skills provider with the State of North Carolina (NCDIT Resource Finder) if not already registered.
- Dedicate at least one staff member to participate in program sessions alongside ConnectTech and ConnectTech+ Work cohort partners.
- Confirm class series schedule – all skilling classes to be completed by December 11, 2026.
In preparation for program delivery, organizations commit to:
Secure a venue for digital skilling classes that fosters an inclusive and enabling classroom environment that supports learner engagement and completion, including:
- Ensure adequate seating, tables, and classroom space for participants.
- Provide reliable, high-speed internet/Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Ensure access to electrical outlets and extension cords.
- Provide a projection screen, television, or other presentation equipment suitable for instruction.
Recruit eligible participants using existing organizational networks and community outreach channels. Organizations must recruit and enroll learners who:
- Are age 18 or older.
- Reside in Mecklenburg, Union, Gaston, or Cabarrus County.
- Understand program expectations and demonstrate commitment to complete the required skilling hours and learning modules associated with each program.
Designate an on-site coordinator and/or facilitation assistant to provide coordination and support, including preparation of a supportive and enabling classroom environment, including:
- Set up computers and classroom technology prior to each session.
- Ensure laptops and devices are fully charged before classes begin.
- Provide charging stations or charging access during classes.
- Securely store program laptops and equipment. CDE will not replace lost or stolen devices.
Proactively communicate and address learner needs to ensure an inclusive and holistic learning environment, including, if needed:
- Connect participants to transportation assistance.
- Provide or connect participants to childcare resources.
- Support participant success through referrals to additional community resources and services.
- Communicate and send timely reminders about class schedules, attendance expectations, and program completion requirements.
- Notify CDE of any participant challenges or withdrawals.
Support data collection and reporting efforts, including:
- Complete both Organizational (Link English and Spanish) and Learner Surveys (link English and Spanish) surveys. These surveys are provided by CDE and part of an ecosystem study on impact and sustainability.
- Organizations participating in Learn2Earn-funded ConnectTech+ Work program must:
- Complete the City of Charlotte Learn2Earn post-training survey requirements.
- Acknowledge that portions of the ConnectTech+ Work program are supported through the City of Charlotte’s Learn2Earn initiative.
- Agree that participant data may be shared with the City of Charlotte as required by Learn2Earn funding agreements and reporting obligations.
Follow Branding and Communications guidelines, including:
- Use CDE’s ConnectTech branding in promotional and outreach materials.
- Tag and appropriately attribute CDE in social media posts, publications, and program communications.
- Agree that programs may be highlighted in CDE marketing materials and social media campaigns.
- Respect participant photo and media opt-out preferences.
