MISSION

Ensure everyone in HUD-assisted housing in Mecklenburg County has;
1. Access to affordable broadband in their home,
2. Affordable technology to connect to the broadband,
3. Free digital and media literacy training so that they may take part in our modern society, economy, and democracy.

YEAR 1 GOALS

Increase internet adoption from 30% to 35% of units in kickstart communities

Increase affordable technology access from 30% to 40% in kickstart communities

Provide free digital literacy training for up to 35% of residents in kickstart communities

NEEDS

$37,000 by July 31st, 2018
● Lead facilitator for 10 classes across 4 Charlotte Housing Authority sites
● Up to 150 earned laptops
● Snacks for each class
● Framed certificates of completion

20 dedicated volunteers to serve as facilitators assistants (2 per class)
