By submitting this application, your organization affirms that it understands and agrees to the following program requirements and limitations:
- Organizations must be a CDE partner at the Innovator or Champion level in good standing
- Good standing refers to:
- Consistent attendance at CDE community council
- Sharing resources (people, time or funding)
- If applicable, provided consistent and accurate data as outlined by the data sharing agreement
- Good standing refers to:
- A designated staff member must participate in at least 90% of required program sessions with the partner cohort.
- Program participants must be over the age of 18 and reside in one of the four listed counties (Mecklenburg, Union, Gaston, or Cabarrus).
- Your organization must register as a digital skills provider with the State of North Carolina (this refers to the NCDIT resource finder).
- The program must be completed by March 1, 2026, with an identified timeline and participants.
- Both Organizational (Link English and Spanish) and Participant Surveys (link English and Spanish) are required. These surveys are provided by CDE and part of an ecosystem study on impact and sustainability.
- Recommended class size is no more than 15 learners at a time for new facilitators. Experienced organizations may facilitate multiple or larger classes.
- An approved curriculum must be identified prior to launch:
- Track 1: Use CDE’s Northstar Digital Training (facilitator required).
- Track 2: Train-the-trainer using CDE’s Northstar Digital Training (facilitator provided by CDE).
- Track 3: Use your own curriculum (subject to review and assessment).
- Training space must include:
- Adequate tables/chairs for each participant,
- A screen,
- Reliable wifi in the room,
- Plugs and extension cords,
- Projection screen or tv
- Organizations must provide learners with headphones and mice.
- Instruction must be offered in English or Spanish as preferred by participants. At this time we do not offer this program in other languages; however, we would love to connect if this is a need you have.
- Your organization must securely store program laptops. CDE will not replace lost or stolen devices.
- Training preparation is the responsibility of the organization, including:
- Setting up the computer room,
- Ensuring laptops are charged,
- Providing timely reminders to participants.
- Programs may be highlighted in CDE marketing and social media posts. (Individual participants may opt out of photos.)
